Caring for skin while reducing our impact on the planet
At SVR, we are fully aware that, as an industrial company, we bear a significant responsibility toward our consumers and the planet: achieving the balance of continuing our activities while minimizing our impact as much as possible. Innovating for human health, as well as for the preservation of the planet and its resources, is a powerful driving force at SVR.
This is why, for years, we have placed CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) challenges at the heart of both our strategic and operational decisions, committing to greater responsibility through comprehensive initiatives. The road ahead is still long, but this challenge drives us every day.
The SVR teams are trained to design effective, safe, and environmentally responsible products that align with our commitments:
Sourcing: We prioritize responsible raw materials, recyclable and recycled materials, and lighter packaging. We also optimize formulations by reducing the number of ingredients and considering energy consumption in our manufacturing processes.
Packaging Selection: We use SPICE, an environmental impact assessment tool for packaging developed by and for the cosmetics industry, supervised by Quantis, a leading Life Cycle Analysis consultancy.
Responsible Purchasing: Through the Ecovadis platform, we have implemented a responsible sourcing strategy for our raw materials and packaging.
Strict Formulation Charter: Developed with dermatologists, allergologists, and toxicologists, every ingredient used in our products is meticulously examined to ensure its safety at the specified concentration and to confirm it poses no risk. Our commitment to endocrine disruptor research for over five years allows us to refine this selection, creating formulas that guarantee no harmful effects on major endocrine mechanisms. Thousands of ingredients are reviewed, hundreds are blacklisted, and only a select few are chosen. Beyond human health, our charter also includes criteria for marine and terrestrial environmental respect, including biodegradability.
Scientific Expertise: A board of scientific experts, including dermatologists and allergologists, supports us in developing new products, conducting tests, and performing clinical studies. A dedicated team specializing in endocrine disruption helps us define formulation charters and validate testing protocols.
Patient Associations: Collaborating with organizations such as the French Eczema Association, France Psoriasis, and Belle et Bien allows us to better address skin conditions and meet the needs of affected individuals.
